As summer comes to a close (at least the traditional Memorial Day to Labor Day portion of it), we turn our sites to fall and to all of the wonderful events and happenings that take place in southern Delaware between September and November.

Annual events like Return Day, Punkin Chunkin, Apple Scrapple and the Sea Witch Halloween and Fiddler’s Festival, just to name a few, are events that are looked forward to by locals, as well as visitors, on a regular basis.

And we here at the Oldfather Group have joined in this wave of autumn excitement ourselves the last couple of years by holding a fun and exciting bonfire/appreciation party on the sand in Dewey Beach.

This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m., and we're looking forward once again to a fantastic time with our valued employees, talented agents, treasured clients and close friends. We love these opportunities to show our appreciation and to just relax, forget about work for a few hours and have a good time here in the wonderful area that we all call home.

As we always do with our public events, we'll be coordinating a fantastic album of photos from this year's bonfire. But this year, we ask that you also join in the fun by taking photos, uploading them to social media and using the hashtags #OGRocks and #OGBonfire.

This way, we can all enjoy the photos from the event and maybe even relive the memories months and/or years down the road.

Speaking of memories, last year’s event was originally cancelled when a powerful nor’easter swept through coastal Delaware in early October. But we were able to host the party at a later date, and we all had a great time!

So this year, we will again collect the firewood, erect the canopies, light the fire and put the beer on ice, this time in mid-September.

So only one question remains - would you like to join us? We'd love to see you on Saturday, Sept. 17, on the beach off of Chicago Street in Dewey. Family, friends, clients, children and pets are all welcome, but we do ask that you please RSVP if you're planning on attending.

You can do so via any of three methods. You can:

Parking will be free in Dewey Beach, but you can also park at our offices at 330 Rehoboth Avenue and take the Jolley Trolley into Dewey Beach. Space is limited, however, so please RSVP as soon as you can to reserve your spot.

We hope to see you on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m., for what should be a great late summer party on the beach.

Have you left a comment on our Zillow Page about your experience with the Oldfather Group? If not, we would love to hear what you have to say. Please take a couple of minutes and let us know how you feel about us.
